Preparation of Protected Area Management Plan (PAMP) of Mount Guiting-Guiting Natural Park

The Republic Act 7586 or the National Integrated Areas System (NIPAS) Act f 1992, as amended by Republic Act 11038, or the Expanded NIPAS provides legal framework for the establishment and management of protected areas. The law provides that the state shall secure for the Filipino people of the present and future generation the perpetual existence of all native plants and animals through the establishment of a comprehensive system of integrated protected areas with the classification of National parks as provided in the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Currently, there are a total of 107 legislated protected areas with a total area of 4.38 million hectares.
CELPA, Inc. was engaged by DENR PENRO Romblon to prepare the Protected Area Management Plan (PAMP) of Mt. Guiting-guiting Natural Park using the prescribed Guidelines of the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) technical bulletin no. 2016-08. The technical bulletin is in support to the effective management of protected areas more particularly those under the NIPAS.
