External Validation of Mangrove and Beach Forest Development Project (MBFDP)

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

Started: January 2018

Completed: October 2018

In 2013, the country was heavily damaged by Super Typhoon Yolanda in many areas on the island of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. To hasten the reforestation and rehabilitation of damaged coastal areas, the DENR under the supervision of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) implemented in 2015, the Mangrove and Beach Forest Development Project (MBFDP). The target sites were distributed in twenty-three provinces of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

To further improve the implementation of MBFDP, ERDB contracted a third party to conduct validation, assessment of survival rate, document, and analyze generated information as inputs for the improvement of the project.
